In 2009 there were more than a dozen incidents in Lancaster County involving propane. From leaking gas grill containers to over-turned trucks, the chances of a propane release increase with its widespread use. Understanding the physical and chemical properties of propane and its container features is essential for a successful incident outcome. This three-hour program, facilitated by Ferrell gas, will review the physical properties of propane; emergency response considerations including case study review; container construction; valves and gauges; and feature a show-and-tell of a MC-331 high-pressure tank bobtail (delivery) truck and other storage tanks.
